PC junkies: I'm thinking about going SSD for the OS (Windows 10)

What is the smallest size SSD that I need that won't negatively OS performance? I was given a PNY 240 GB drive, but am wondering if I should buy a cheap 120 GB drive just for the OS and software, then use the 240 GB drive for file storage. Then use my existing hard drive as a (on-site) backup?

Suggestions welcome - other than buy a mac and drink heavily! ;-)

  Don't go smaller than 128 for OS ** -- FfxStationHokie 07/23/2016 09:36AM
  I'm running Windows 7 on a 128GB SSD, works great. -- HokieNoVA 07/23/2016 09:12AM
Did you have just the OS on the SSD, or all files? -- Upwind of uva 07/24/2016 07:42AM
